Staysail Release Levers

Several people have written us care of the Sailnet website looking for sources of hy-field levers or staysail stay release levers. The one we use on Taleisin was made by ABI industries. Unfortunately they have gone out of business. Other sources are Johnson Marine (www.csjohsnon.com) . They call theirs an inner-forestay, quick release turnbuckle. Wichar, Garauer and Ronstan also produce similar turnbuckle/lever combinations. 

But some folks have complained about the cost and size of these arrangements. The diagram here shows a simpler solution that can be fabricated at home by those of you who have a bandsaw with a metal cutting blade.
