Storage Tips - Large Mixing Bowls

I got this idea from folks on a Westsail 32. They had put L shaped pieces of wood under the center of their large galley table and simply slide the flared edges of nesting stainless steel salad and mixing bowls into this support. I found the space for my extra large bowl under the shelf in my galley cook ware locker (the largest of my set can hold salad for ten or fifteen and is used for mixing bread dough at sea). To keep the bowls from sliding out when we are heeled, Larry has drilled a small hole in the supporting shelf and I drop a cotter pin through this hole. On the other tack, the curve of the hull keeps the bowls in place.

The photo shows where we store our galley knives. It is along the edge of our wooden counter, forward of our galley sink. The diagram at B shows how simple this was to build.
